Linux actually has a better protection but is not exempt from malware, there are small vulnerabiliades in the system that would run malware, however, it is true that the attacks are not as dangerous as in Windows. You can search somthing like "Linux malware" in english language pages and you will find information about that, specially in the english wiki :P
